Step By step regripping instructions
Step 1: Gather Your Tools
- Your golf clubs
- Your Gives Golf grip(s)
- Grip tape (double-sided)
- Grip solvent (or paint thinner)
- A utility knife or hook blade
- A clean paper towel
- A vice (optional but recommended)
Step 2: Remove Old grip tape
Using a utility knife or hook blade, carefully cut through the old grip from the butt end down toward the hosel. Peel it away and remove any old tape from the shaft.
Wipe the shaft with a clean, dry paper towel to remove any dirt or residue.
Step 3: Apply grip tape
Wrap a strip of double-sided grip tape around the shaft, starting about an inch from the butt end and working down. Overlap slightly and smooth out any air bubbles. Fold the extra tape at the top over the opening of the shaft.
Step 4: Apply Solvent
Pour a small amount of grip solvent into the open end of your new Gives Golf grip, covering the hole at the bottom with your finger. Shake to coat the inside of the grip. Pour the remaining solvent over the taped section of the shaft. Work quickly — solvent dries fast.
Step 5: Install the Grip
While the solvent is still wet, slide your Gives Golf grip onto the shaft in one smooth motion. Align the logo facing up (toward the sky) and make sure the grip is pushed all the way down, flush with the butt end of the shaft.
